Police: Lock Your Cars in Ridgefield

A recent rash of thefts from unlocked cars caused the police to issue a warning to motorists.

If you aren’t in the habit of locking your vehicle and removing all valuables, the Ridgefield Police Department said you should be aware that multiple cars parked in the Main Street area have had items stolen from them over the past week.

Police officials said in each case the car was left unlocked and there was no forced entry reported.

Public Information Office Captain Jeff Kreitz said it is believed the thefts occurred during the overnight hours.
