Popular Ridgefield Business To Close, Owner Has Important Message

The owner offered heartfelt advice to local residents concerning the town's future.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The owner of The Purple Frog Gift Shop has a message for local Ridgefield residents: 'Please remember your Ridgefield stores during a time when Amazon is breaking all online records.'

This was a portion of the message that the owner, Emma Hardiman, posted in announcing yesterday that her store will close after five years.

The Purple Frog Gift Shop LLC located at 414 Main Street said on its Facebook page that "Purple Frog is closing – everything must go! It is time for new adventures. Thank you to our fabulous customers for supporting us over the past 5 years. Thank you for your loyalty, patience and advice that enabled us to grow on to Main Street – this really is a special town with great people!

We plan to close on December 31st. Everything is discounted at least 50% from its original price, and all tables and shelving also needs to find new homes. Don’t forget to use your gift vouchers before we shut our doors for the final time.

"You will still see me in town, continuing to shop local. Please remember your Ridgefield stores during a time when Amazon is breaking all online records. If this trend continues our precious downtown is going to look very different in 5 years’ time. Emma at Purple Frog."

The store sells items for babies, toddlers, jewelry, cards and gifts.
