Proposal to Brighten Ridgefield Dog Park
Selectwoman Barbara Manners is leading the initiative.

A Ridgefield official has teamed up with a local design firm to help brighten up the town’s dog park, the News Times reports.
Selectwoman Barbara Manners who has six dogs has been using the park with her youngest since May. She realized that as the days became shorter, those who work may not have the opportunity to enjoy the park with their pets. To that effect, Manners has teamed up with Studer Design Associates to develop a plan to install lights at the park.
The cost is expected to be less than an original estimate of $50,000. Manners is asking for donations to help pay for the lights and installations.
The permit under which the park was built would need to be revised to accomodate the lights, although it may not necessarily require a public hearing.
Donations can be mailed to Friends of Ridgefield Community Programs/ Dog Park Lighting and mailed to Town Hall.
