Remembering Joan Plock, Former Selectwoman; Services To Be Held Saturday
Former Selectwoman Joan Plock died Nov. 14 in Ridgefield.

Joan Plock, a former Selectwoman of the town of Ridgefield, died last night, Nov. 14.
A long-time Ridgefield resident and member of the Board of Education and Board of Selectmen, Mrs. Plock resigned from her position as selectwoman last year for health reasons.
Mrs. Plock died with her family around her, friend and town registrar Hope Wise wrote.

Joan R. Plock, 68 of Ridgefield who served the Town of Ridgefield as Selectwoman died at her home on Monday, November 14, 2011.
She was the wife of Harry J. Plock.
Mrs. Plock was born on Long Island in Hicksville, N.Y., August 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Frank and Blanche Sabatella. She attended Hicksville schools and graduated from SUNY-Plattsburgh.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past thirty years, she was an office manager with Ridgefield Associates and was active in the Ridgefield Community Outreach program.
Prior to her election as Selectwoman for the Town of Ridgefield, Mrs. Plock served as a member of the Board of Education and as its chairperson.
In addition to her husband of 28 years, she is survived by two sons, Michael Plock of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Dr. Cory Plock and his wife Lizette of Danbury; a brother, James Sabatella and his wife, Linda of Riverhead, L.I.; two sisters, Patricia Reth of California and Betty Sabatella and two grandchildren, Carter Plock and Brandon Plock.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2 pm in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.
Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
