Replanting Ridgefield
The Tree Committee and The Rotary Club of Ridgefield, has taken another step towards restoring Main Street to its original beauty.
Replanting Ridgefield, a partnership between Ridgefield’s
Tree Committee and The Rotary Club of Ridgefield, has
taken another step towards restoring Main Street to its
original beauty. Last week the second phase, replanting 16
trees in state approved locations was completed. The tree
committee said the third phase should happen within the
next couple of weeks. We are making a difference!
Tom McManus, Chair of Ridgefield's Tree Committee, is a major reason why Replanting Ridgefield will be
successful. Once the trees are planted, it is critical that they receive the proper care, especially early on. Many mornings, you will see Tom out watering
each of the new trees. This is vital to ensuring their ability to survive
and grow.
This week Bill Wyman, Chair of Rotary's Tree Committee and Tom McManus installed the first three Replanting Ridgefield Donor Plaques, making the donation recognition permanent.
The success of Replanting Ridgefield has been driven by Ridgefielders willingness to protect the beauty of Main Street.
Currently 84 families have participated, 18 of those families have purchased plaques that will be placed by the new trees honoring
their donations. Donations can be made to The Ridgefield Rotary Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization, at PO Box 41, Ridgefield, CT 06877 or by going to ridgefieldrotary.org and clicking on the Replanting Ridgefield logo.
