Born in Seoul and raised in the United States, Lee blends Korean traditions with Western artistic influences, using experimental techniques to create layered ceramic paintings, sculptures and installations. The exhibition features new and recent works, including a recreation of the tomb of New Orleans figure Marie Catherine Laveau and large sculptural displays made from repurposed kilns that highlight Lee’s inventive artistic process.
