Cramer & Anderson Partner Josh Weinshank has won a 2022 Distinguished Leaders award from the Connecticut Law Tribune (CLT).

Attorney Weinshank is Resident Partner in the firm’s Ridgefield office, and the Fairfield County Trust and Estate Planning and Administration Group Leader.

He is being honored by the CLT for his vision and success in driving growth of Trust and Estate Planning business and guiding the firm’s expansion into Fairfield County.

Additionally, Partner Mitchell J. Melnick, leader of Cramer & Anderson’s Corporate and Business Department, is being honored with an Unsung Heroes award for his behind-the-scenes work on the December 2021 acquisition of client Morse Watchmans and other major business and corporate transactions.

CLT announced the winners of the 2022 Connecticut Legal Awards online, and the awards will be presented at the annual dinner May 11 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.

The nomination for Attorney Weinshank, who previously won a New Leaders in the Law Award from the Connecticut Law Tribune, said in part:

[Attorney Weinshank] was elevated from Associate to Partner five years ago after just 18 months with the firm as an affirmation for his vision and success in driving growth of Trust and Estate Planning business.

Less than a year after being named Partner, Attorney Weinshank then led the firm’s expansion into Fairfield County, overseeing the launch of a sixth office in Ridgefield.

As Resident Partner in that office, and as the firm’s Fairfield County Trust and Estate Planning and Administration Group Leader, Attorney Weinshank has significantly expanded the Trust and Estate Planning client base in southwestern Connecticut, notably through strategic networking with business owners and high net worth individuals.

Another core aspect of Attorney Weinshank’s success in expanding the firm’s influence in lower Fairfield County … prioritizes engagement and community service to assist key community nonprofits. …

At the close of 2021, for example, Attorney Weinshank was named Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital Foundation, as well as the Norwalk Hospital Foundation. The hospitals are flagships for Nuvance Health, the premier health care system serving western Connecticut. …

In 2021, Attorney Weinshank also was named a corporator for Union Savings Bank, the $2.7 billion mutual bank headquartered in Danbury, and he has long supported the vibrant and growing nonprofit RVNAhealth, currently serving as a member of the Development Committee.

Also in Ridgefield, where he lives with his wife, Steffani, and their daughters, Attorney Weinshank has served on the Board of the Ridgefield Playhouse, as well as its Finance Committee.

Attorney Weinshank also won a prestigious 40 Under 40 award from the Fairfield County Business Journal in May 2019, and was twice named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
