Ridgefield Boys Basketball Advances To Class LL Semifinals

The Ridgefield boys basketball team was not about to put away the uniforms just yet in what has been the greatest season in school history.
The Tigers now are one game away from playing for a state championship after defeating No. 4 seed Holy Cross of Waterbury 62-51 Friday night in the CIAC Class LL quarterfinals in Waterbury.
Chris Esemplare scored a game-high 28 points for the fifth-seeded Tigers, who improved to 21-3.

Ridgefield put away the contest by making 11-of-12 free throws in the fourth quarter, including 5-of-6 from Bryan Galvin. Overall, the Tigers were 20-of-25 from the charity stripe.
Ridgefield rallied from a six-point deficit after the third quarter to advance to Tuesday's semifinal against Fairfield Prep, which edged Xavier 61-59 on Terry Tarpey's shot at the buzzer.
