Ridgefield Boys Lacrosse Rolls Into FCIAC Semifinals

Aidan Scott scored five goals Saturday as the Ridgefield boys lacrosse team cruised to a 17-4 victory over McMahon in the FCIAC quarterfinals.
Eric Scala and Andrew Buckanavage each added three goals for the third-seeded Tigers (13-4), who will take on No. 2 Greenwich in the semifinals on Tuesday at McMahon. Greenwich advanced with a 14-7 win over Staples on Saturday.
During the regular season, the Cardinals edged Ridgefield 8-7 on May 3.

Ridgefield featured balanced scoring Saturday as Sean Wilkinson chipped in with two goals while David Arturi, John Dighton, Matt Hrvatin, James Suslavich each scored once.
Hrvatin, Wilkinson, Neil Gollogly and Scott each registered two assists with Scala and Dighton picking up one apiece.

Adam Winnie made six saves in goal for Ridgefield, which peppered McMahon with 30 shots and dominated the faceoffs. The Tigers won 17 of 24 faceoffs, led by Dighton, who was 14-of-19.
The contest was closed for a while as McMahon managed a 3-3 tie after the first quarter, but the Tigers opened an 8-4 halftime lead, then outscored the Senators 9-0 in the second half.
