Ridgefield Boys Lacrosse Rolls Into Second Round Of Class Tournament

Aidan Scott, Matt Hrvatin and Sean Riley each scored three goals fo Tigers who routed NFA, 20-6

The Ridgefield boys lacrosse team quickly recovered from its loss to Darien in the FCIAC championship game.

Aidan Scott, Matt Hrvatin and Sean Riley each had three goals Wednesday as the sixth-seeded Tigers rolled to a 20-6 victory over Norwich Free Academy in the first round of the CIAC Class L state tournament.

Hrvatin also registered six assists for Ridgefield (15-5), which will host No. 14 seed Conard in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Conard upset No. 3 seed Xavier 11-7 on Wednesday.

Eric Scala, Sean Wilkinson and David Arturi each scored twice for Ridgefield while Grayson Wiley, Samuel Waring, Martin Carbone, Neil Gollogly and John Barrow all found the back of the net once.

Tim Kelly  had a pair of assists while Scala, Andrew Buckanavage, Tim Cozens, Wilkinson, Scott, Gollogly and Riley each had one.

Ridgefield was in control from the start, outshooting NFA, 44-12. The Tigers' two goalies -   Adam Winnie  (two) and Chandler Molyneaux (one) needed to make only three saves.

Ridgefield lost to Darien 10-7 in the FCIAC title game on Friday.
