Ridgefield Boys Soccer Falls To Newtown
The Tigers are eliminated 3-2 after losing 8-6 on penalty kicks

The Ridgefield boys soccer team's bid for an upset fell just short Friday as the Tigers dropped a 3-2 decision to eighth-seeded Newtown on penalty kicks in the first round of the Class LL state tournament.
The Nighthawks advanced to the second round to take on Fairfield Prep after outscoring the Tigers 8-6 over two rounds of penalty kicks.
Kent Coleman and Joe DeVivo scored in the first half to give Ridgefield a 2-1 lead, but Newtown tied it in the second half on a goal by Logan Puleri. Connor Quinn scored in the first half for Newtown.

Kyle Gurtkowski made nine saves for the Tigers, who concluded the year at 7-7-3.
