Ridgefield Coaches Return to Work, Following forced Leave
The coaches were placed on administrative leave during the police investigation of a fire set at Governor Park
RIDGEFIELD, CT — High school head baseball coach Paul Fabbri and his staff are returning to their duties with the team, the Ridgefield Press has reported.
Fabbri and his coaching staff were placed on administrative leave on April 8, Superintendent Dr. William Collins announced, pending the outcome of a police investigation into who started a fire on the team's field at Governor Park on April 6.
"...we do not believe the coaching staff was directly involved, however, out of an abundance of caution, the three varsity coaches have been placed on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the police investigation," Collins wrote in a letter to parents.

The infield was doused with 24 gallons of gasoline prior to a game in an attempt to dry an area of the field, officials said. The cost to repair the damage is estimated at $50,000.
Fabbri, and assistants Tom Neville and Len Merullo will be back in the Tirgers' home dugout on Wednesday when Ridgefield plays Ludlowe at 4 p.m.
