Ridgefield Coronavirus Update: 27 Deaths, 171 Confirmed Cases

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed that 171 cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in Ridgefield as of Friday.

Health Director Ed Briggs is reporting that the total number of deaths in town attributed to COVID-19 is now 27.

The Town of Ridgefield will is offering to provide a Tax Deferral Program to Ridgefield tax payers taxpayers suffering financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Program is available by application, with documentation submitted to the tax collector by no later than May

15, 2020 for the April tax quarter and no later than July 1, 2020 for the July tax quarter. An application is available online here.

Connecticut saw its highest single-day drop in net hospitalizations between Thursday and Friday with 70 less admitted patients. Fairfield County had a net drop of 36 hospitalizations.

The state continues to see a high amount of deaths with 125 more reported Friday. That brings the death total up to 1,764. There were also 821 new lab-confirmed cases out of 2,541 tests; there are 23,921 lab-confirmed cases in total.
