Ridgefield Firefighters Come To The Rescue Of 'Justin Beaver'

A wire fence did not prevent a beaver from getting trapped​ in a water-filled gully on residential property in Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Crews from the Ridgefield Fire Department came to the rescue of a small varmint last week.

A wire fence did not prevent a beaver from getting trapped in a water-filled gully on residential property. Firefighters were able to free the critter using a pair of long-handled wire cutters.

"The homeowner of the property where the Beaver was trapped was appreciative that we responded to the call and performed a successful extrication," Ridgefield fire officials posted on social media. "We believe that the animal's name was Justin Beaver..."
