The Ridgefield girls lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season Thursday, falling to Greenwich 17-8 in a battle of unbeaten teams.
Liana Mathias scored three goals while Taylor Fischer added a pair and three assists for the Tigers, who dropped to 6-1. Melissa Galione, Anna Marcus and Caroline Ogden each tallied one goal for Ridgefield.
Maggie Philbin recorded 10 saves for the Tigers and Morgan Hyland, Missy Hutchings and Hannah Dighton led the defense.

However, Ridgefield could not recover after falling behind 9-4 at the half. Greenwich nearly matched that score in the second half, outscoring the Tigers, 8-4.
The Cardinals, who improved to 5-0, spread the wealth as Claire Feeney, Emma Christie, Hayden Stein and Tori Dunster all scored three goals.

Emily D'Erasime chipped in with two for Greenwich and Emily Johnson, Shannon Culligan and Caroline Keaveny each added one.
Ridgefield is back in action on Saturday at Fairfield Ludlowe (1:30 p.m.).
