Ridgefield Girls Lacrosse Holds Off Fairfield Warde, 13-10

Caroline Ogden scores three goals for Tigers, who improved to 6-0

After three straight lopsided wins, the Ridgefield girls lacrosse team faced a much tougher test Monday against Fairfield Warde, but still emerged with its perfect record intact.

Caroline Ogden paced a balanced attack with three goals and two assists as the Tigers held off the Mustangs 13-10 to improve to 6-0.

Ridgefield built an 11-5 halftime lead before Fairfield Warde outscored the Tigers 5-2 in the second half to make it interesting.

The Tigers won their previous three games against Pomperaug, Stamford and New Milford by a combined scored of 62-19.

Liana Mathias and Cara Lockwood each scored two goals for Ridgefield on Monday while Kathryn Cholko, Taylor Fischer, Eliza Marcus, Hannah Dighton, Melissa Galione and Shauna Norris also had one.

Maggie Philbin registered five saves in goal for the Tigers, who completed a stretch of playing three games in four days. They are back in action on Thursday at home against Greenwich in another matinee. Game time is 1 p.m.

Taylor Bargman (four goals) and Alex Kelley (three goals) paced Warde, which had a two-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 2-4.

The other goals for the Mustangs were scored by Hannah Trischman, Maggie Winstead and  Jeri Jacob.
