Ridgefield Girls Soccer Opens With 2-0 Win Over Stamford

Taylor Fisher and Eliza Paltauf score for Tigers

Taylor Fisher and Eliza Paltauf scored goals as the Ridgefield girls soccer team finally opened its season Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Stamford.

The start of the Tigers' season was delayed because the team did not get in enough practice while the school was closed in the wake of Hurricane Irene.

Ridgefield did not open until the day after Labor Day and its teams - except football -- did not  practice while the school was closed.
