Ridgefield Golf Course is Now Open with Improvements and a New Caterer
The Town of Ridgefield's Golf Committee has decided on a new lesee for concessions stand and is working to make the course ADA compliant.

The Ridgefield Golf Course opened for the 2016 season on Thursday, March 17, and, according to their website, they have made some improvements.
The Ridgefield Golf Committee has selected a new caterer at their February 23 meeting.
Marshall Odeen and his partner John Lloyd have opened "Odeen's at Ridgefield Golf Course." Odeen told Patch on Thursday that the menu includes barbecue, half-pound hand-pressed burgers, veggie burgers, wraps, a wide variety of fresh salads and more. They will also have 6 beers on tap and sunset specials on the porch.
Danbury resident Pat Keeler is their Head Chef. Keelerr, Odeen and Lloyd also run operations on Friday nights at the Danbury Elks Club and said they are happy to be offering a new menu at the Ridgefield Golf Course.
Keeler told Patch: " We are currently running a limited menu and we will be running full steam as of April 1."
Odeen said the lease is for a 3 year term and "if all goes well they can extend it by another two years," he told Patch Thursday.

First Selectman Rudy Marconi said that the Town of Ridgefield is working this year to make the golf course ADA compliant. At a February 17 town meeting Marconi listened to a Wilton resident's concerns that he would like to play golf with a special ADA compliant cart, however the course does not yet offer this.
Fred Jacobsen of Wilton said at the meeting that even though he is handicapped and in a wheelchair, he still wishes to play golf but there is no way for him to navigate in his wheel chair on the Ridgefield Golf Course. Jacobsen said he can still swing a golf club so the use of the ADA carts would benefit veterans who wish to also continue to play golf.
Meeting minutes stated:
"The inclines on the Golf Course can be dangerous and are not safe to be taken in a regular cart. We understand what Mr. Jacobsen is talking about and we are making progress addressing compliance issues. Thank you for coming to our meeting to discuss this issue."
