Ridgefield High Students to School Chef: 'Stop Charging Fascist Prices'
Ridgefield High School students are petitioning to remove the school chef, and to protest "fascist" prices

RIDGEFIELD, CT — In an effort to remove the chef from his position, Ridgefield High School students are protesting their new school chef and the school's lunch prices.
In a change.org petition entitled "Get Chef Matt Out of Here" the student cites prices of up to $13 for a plate of pasta and two breadsticks with cheese for $4.50. Additionally, the petition criticizes the chef's behavior on the job.
"Too long has Chef Matt poisoned the atmosphere of our lunchroom," reads the petition started by RHS student Jim Green."He doesn't treat the people very friendly."

"I can go to Tony's Corner Deli and get a sausage egg and cheese (that are fantastic) for $2.99," reads the petition. "Stop charging fascist prices per oz. I saw some kid who thought the pasta was a flat rate. He was charged $13."
The petition has received numerous comments from current and former students, many of whom agreed with the statements made.
When I went to high school, (grad of 2014) I wouldn't even buy lunch because what you were buying wasn't near the quality of what you could get in an actual restaurant or deli for the same price," wrote commenter Kyle Guzinski." So I would either buy from somewhere and bring it in to eat or not eat until I went home which for plenty of kids isn't an option.
