Ridgefield To Hold Citizen Police Academy
Ridgefield residents will gain insight into how their police department works and provides services to the community in the 8-week program.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Police Department will be holding a Citizen Police Academy for residents interested in learning more about various aspects of police work.
Participants will gain insight into how their police department works and provides services to the community.
Connecting the community and the police, the Citizen Police Academy will educate participants about various aspects of police work, according to police officials.

Topics will include crime scene investigation, K9 unit, firearms, TASER, speed enforcement, DUI enforcement, identity theft, patrol procedures, search and seizure, and the department's history.
The Academy will begin March 20, and meet every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. for 8 weeks. It will be held at police headquarters, located at 76 East Ridge Road.

Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen years old at the time of application and should live or work in Ridgefield. Registration deadline is March 15.
