Ridgefield Names Capt. Jeff Kreitz Chief of Police

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Police have named Capt. Jeff Kreitz their new chief.

Krietz has been serving as the department's chief information officer. He takes over from Maj. Steve Brown who has been running the day-to-day since the death of Chief John Roche who diedd shortly after retiring in August.

Before his promotion, Kreitz ran the Division of Professional Standards, responsible for all the PD's training programs, according to the departmental website.
