Ridgefield OKs Purchasing Fuel While Prices Are Low

The appropriation was approved at a sparsely attended special town meeting.

RIdgefield voters gave a thumbs up to a $375,000 appropriation that will help the town meet its fuel needs into 2017.

An article in the Ridgefield Press said a special town meeting Wednesday that was not well attended OK’d the funds for buying gasoline, diesel fuel and heating oil.

The appropriation was an attempt to take advantage of fuel prices while the costs are low, the Press said.

Town officials did admit that they were hedging their bets that prices won’t drop further.
