Ridgefield Playhouse Lengthens Lease, Adds More Space
The deal brings in about $103,000 to the town, who is the landlord
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The selectmen approved a 20-year lease renting the Ridgefield Playhouse and additional space in the town-owned Venus building, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.
The Playhouse would continue to pay a dollar a year for the auditorium itself, backstage space, and a to-be-built downstairs concession area. Where the town will make its money is in rent ($68,000) for the 4,865 square feet of second-floor Venus Building space currently occupied by Board of Education offices, as well as heat and electricity ($34,900 or more).
