Ridgefield Police Mourn Death Of Retired Officer
The Ridgefield Police Department is mourning the death of retired Officer Edward Hojnacki, who passed away on Monday.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Police Department is mourning the death of retired Officer Edward Hojnacki, who passed away on Monday.
Hojnacki served with the Ridgefield PD from 1984-2000. Prior to working in Ridgefield, Hojnacki was a police officer with the New York Police Department for 20 years, retiring as a sergeant, according to the tribute on social media.
During his career in Ridgefield, Hojnacki received numerous commendation letters, numerous letters of recognition from the public and was a PBA Officer of the Year recipient, according to police officials.
"We thank Officer Hojnacki for his service with the Ridgefield Police Department and to the Town of Ridgefield. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hojnacki family. You will be dearly missed Ed, but never forgotten..." the RPD wrote in a tribute on Facebook.
