The Ridgefield boys lacrosse team, which is off to a 5-1 start, has climbed one spot to No. 3  in the New Haven Register's top-10 state poll.

The Tigers rank behind Darien (4-1) and Fairfield Prep (5-0). The Blue Wave held on to the top spot despite a 11-5 loss at Haverford (PA).

Ridgefield (4-1) is followed by Greenwich (2-2), Wilton (2-2), New Canaan (1-2), McMahon (4-1), New Fairfield (5-0), Weston (4-0) and Staples (4-1). New Fairfield is the only newcomer in the weekly poll.

The Tigers rebounded from a 10-5 loss at Summit (N.J) on Saturday to rout Westhill 17-5 on Tuesday. Ridgefield is back in action on Thursday at Stamford.

Sean Riley (18-3-21), Andrew Buckanavage (14-1-15) and Matt Hrvatin (3-11-14) are the team's leading scorers.

Ridgefield 7, Westhill 2 - Ryan Callanan allowed one run  and struck out 10 over 5 2/3 innings for the Tigers.
