Coming off the most successful season in school history, the boys basketball team opens its 2011-12 campaign on Wednesday at home against Darien (7 p.m.)
Last season, the Tigers finished 21-4 and reached the Class LL semifinals for the first time in school history, losing to Fairfield Prep 60-55.

Ridgefield graduated three starters in point guard Bryan Galvin, Chris Esemplare and forward Mike Kenny.
They are big losses as Esemplare led the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game and Galvin was the team's floor general.

The top two returning players are junior swingmn Kurt Steidl and senior forward Seth Van Kuhn, who each averaged double figures in scoring last season on a balanced Ridgefield team.
