After a tough loss to Stamford, the boys basketball team took on some frustrations on McMahon on Friday.

Jeff Racy scored 22 points as the Tigers cruised to an 81-54 victory in Norwalk to rebound from a 50-39 set to the Black Knights, their second loss in three games.

Ridgefield improved to 12-2 overall and 10-2 in the FCIAC while McMahon dropped to 2-13 and 2-11.

Seth von Kuhn scored 15 points and Kurt Steidl added 12 for Ridgefield, which broke it open in the second half after taking a 37-26 lead at the intermission. Jack Heller chipped in with 10 for the Tigers.

Darkyn Stroud scored 17 points to lead the Senators but did not get much help. And it doesn't get any easier for McMahon, as its next game is against top-ranked St. Joseph on Feb. 10.

Ridgefield hosts Trumbull on Tuesday. The Eagles upset Greenwich 53-52 on Friday.

The Ridgefield girls basketball team kept its state tournament hopes alive with a 65-46 win over McMahon at home on Friday.

Emily Favorite scored 21 points to lead the Tigers, who improved to 6-10.

Gemma Howard, Samme Jancin and Andrea Ferrero each had eight points for Ridgefield, which must split its final four games to earn a postseason berth.

The Tigers, however, have  a tough closing schedule, finishing with Trumbull, Fairfield Warde, Fairfield Ludlowe and Staples.

The Ridgefield boys hockey team extended its winning streak to 13 games with a 3-1 victory at South Winsdor on Saturday.

Chris Morrow scored the first two goals of the game for the Tigers, who improved to 13-1 and have not lost since a season-opening 3-0 defeat to top-ranked Fairfield Prep.

Cam McGuire scored in the third to give Ridgefield, ranked second in the state, a 3-1 lead.

South Windsor dropped to 8-5.
