Ridgefield American and Ridgefield National began pool play this week in the District One 12-year-old Little League tournament.
Ridgefield American opened with a 17-2 loss on Wednesday to National Lione of Stamford while Ridgefield National opens pool play on Friday against Stamford Federal at 5:45 p.m. at Stamford's Frank Noto Field.

Ridgefield American and National are back in action on Sunday as part of a doubleheader at Aldrich Field. At 12 p.m., National takes on Norwalk and at 2 p.m., American faces Redding.
Each team will play six games in pool play, which continues through July 10. There were no games scheduled in the tournament on Thursday.
