The Ridgefield 15-year-old All-Stars advanced to the Babe Ruth state tournament after defeating Pomperaug 4-3 on Sunday in the District Four title game.

The state tournament begins this weekend in New Milford with the winner of that tournament advancing to the regionals.

The Ridgefield 14s defeated Brookfield 5-4 Mopday night in Danbury to also win the district four title.

The 14s reached the final after routing Danbury (11-3) and Brookfield (10-4) on Sunday. The 14-year-old state tournament is in Waterford and also gets under way this weekend.

Ridgefield also has a team in the 13-year-old tournament, which it is hosting beginning on Friday.

The Ridgefield junior American Legion team defeated Westport 4-3 on Monday to move with one win of clinching a berth in the state tournament.

Ridgefield, which improved to 14-7, is back in action on Tuesday against Stamford at East Ridge Middle School (5:45 p.m.).

The semifinals are set in the 11-year-old District One baseball tournament. On Thursday, Darien National takes on Ridgefield National (5:30 p.m.) and Wilton faces North Stamford (7:30 p.m.) at Springdale.
