The Ridgefield Babe Ruth teams will have a busy weekend as all three begin play in the state tournament.

Ridgefield 13-Prep will host the 13-Prep tournament and begin play Friday at 5 p.m. at Ciuccoli Field against the District Six champion.

The 14-year-old team 14U faces District One winner Stamford in the first round on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Waterford.

The 15-year-old tournament is taking place in New Milford and Ridgefield opens against the hosts on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Volunteer Field.  All three tournaments are double elimination.

The semifinals in the 11-year-old District One baseball tournament will be played On Thursday at Stamford Springdale.  Darien National takes on Ridgefield National at 5:30 p.m. and Wilton faces North Stamford at 7:30 p.m. at Springdale.

Greenwich and Ridgefield will face off for the Junior League Softball Championship on Thursday evening at 5:45 pm at Wilton's Middlebrook School. 

The winner advances to the Section 1 tournament in Orange on Monday with an opening game against the District Two champ at 5:30 p.m.

Greenwich defeated Wilton 12-2 Tuesday to finish 3-0 in pool play while Ridgefield edged Danbury, 10-9, to complete pool play at 2-1.

Greenwich outscored its three opponents by a margin 35-5, including a 12-2 win over Ridgefield.
