The Ridgefield Babe Ruth teams will have a busy weekend as all three begin play in the state tournament.

Ridgefield 13-Prep will host the 13-Prep tournament and begin play Friday at 5 p.m. at Ciuccoli Field against District Six champion New London.

If Ridgefield wins, it will take on either Darien or Fairfield in the winner's bracket semifinals on Sunday at 4 p.m. If Ridgefield loses, it will play the Darien-Fairfield loser on Monday at East Ridge Middle School at 5 p.m.

The 14-year-old team 14U faces District One winner Stamford in the first round on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Waterford.

The 15-year-old tournament is taking place in New Milford and Ridgefield opens against the hosts on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Volunteer Field.

The semifinals in the 11-year-old District One baseball tournament were played on Thursday at Stamford Springdale.  Darien National blanked Ridgefield National 3-0 and Wilton defeated North Stamford, 13-3.

The Ridgefield junior American Legion team (16-7) won its seventh straight game Thursday with a 6-4 win over Darien/New Canaan.
