The Ridgefield boys lacrosse team will get another crack at Fairfield Prep in the CIAC Class L state final on Saturday at McMahon. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.

Eric Scala scored three goals and William Bonaparte, Andrew Buckanavage and Matt Hrvatin each added two as Ridgefield advanced to the final with a 10-3 win over Staples.

While Ridgefield and Prep didn't play in the states last year, the Jesuits handed the Tigers one-goal losses in each of the previous two seasons, including a 15-14 victory in the 2008 championship game.

In 2009, when the Tigers were the top seed, Prep defeat Ridgefield 10-9 in the semifinals.

Ridgefield won its only boys lacrosse state title in 2001, defeating New Fairfield 10-1 in the Division II final.

Fairfield Prep, which is seeking its fifth state title in six years, advanced to the final with a 7-2 win over Simsbury on Wednesday.

-- Ridgefield's Ellie Gravitte will compete in the 66th annual New England interscholastic outdoor track and field championships set for Saturday in Burlington, Vermont.

Gravitte qualified 11th in the javelin with a throw of 131 feet, eight inches.
