Matt Dighton won 10 of 16 faceoffs.
-- In the Over-38 Men’s Baseball League, the Ridgefield Rockers destroyed Bridgewater 15-4 Saturday in Bridgewater.
Pitching was the primary contributor to the victory, as Kerri Moody went six strong innings, with John Moccio coming in and getting two strikeouts in his one inning. Catcher Tom Dixon called the game and made several key blocks to keep Bridgewater from mounting any threat.
Offensively, Moody showed himself as well, going 3-for-3 with a double, but there were many hitting stars, with Skip Steere, Craig Matthews, Lee Povinelli, Jim Finger and Jeff Ritell all contributing to the onslaught.
Defensively, Mark Morley turned in a sparkling play at first, while Tyler Pratt, Steve Waldinger, Ralph Haas, and Tony Messina killed any chance for Bridgewater to even get in the game.
It was truly a team effort, with every player making contributions to the win.
Ridgefield improves to 1-3, and its next game will be Saturday at 4 p.m against the undefeated New Milford Black Sox in New Milford.
