There was little movement this weekend in the New Haven Register media high school football top 10 poll with Xavier (4-0), Masuk (4-0) and Ansonia (3-0) holding on to the top three spots.
No. 4 Hand (4-0) and No. 5 New Canaan (4-0) flip-flopped with the Tigers climbing one spot and the Rams dropping one position. Last week, New Canaan rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat McMahon, 36-33.
New London (3-0) held on to the No. 6 spot, followed by Staples (3-0), which also was No. 7 last week, Windsor (4-0), Bunnell (4-0) and North Haven (4-0).
Four FCIAC teams also are receiving votes, headed by Darien (4-0) at No. 13. The other FCIAC teams receiving consideration are Greenwich (3-1), Norwalk (4-0) and Trumbull (2-1). Norwalk has a showdown this week at home against New Canaan.
