Winners of four straight games, the Ridgefield football team (4-1) is sixth in the latest CIAC Class LL state rankings.

While there are only four unbeaten teams left in Class LL, including No. 4 Staples (4-0), the Tigers are one of 11 teams with one loss. That logjam includes No. 10 Norwalk (4-1) and No. 12 Greenwich (4-1).

On Friday, Ridgefield hosts Norwalk, which is coming off its first loss of the season, a 28-14 setback to undefeated New Canaan.

While 8-2 could get in after the playoff field in each class was expanded to eight teams last season, Friday's game could be an elimination contest
