Things do not get any easier for the Ridgefield boys basketball team.

Having lost back-to-back games, the Tigers have the unenviable task on Monday of visiting top-ranked St. Joseph, which is closing in on an undefeated regular season.

Ridgefield (14-4, 12-4) followed up a 51-47 upset loss to Fairfield Ludlowe with a 60-34 setback to Staples. The margin of defeat certainly raised some eyebrows throughout the FCIAC. The Tigers were trailing 30-7 at the half.

Ridgefield, which has clinched an FCIAC playoff, is now in a four-way tie for second in the FCIAC with Bassick, Trinity Catholic and Westhill.

St. Joseph (18-0, 16-0) has locked up the top seed for the FCIAC playoffs and is two games away from completing an undefeated regular season. The Cadets are coming off Wednesday's 71-41 rout of Greenwich.

Last year, Ridgefield handed St. Joseph its only loss of the regular season. St. Joseph also lost to Stamford in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC playoffs before going on to win the Class LL state championship.
