The St. Joseph boys basketball team moved within one game of an undefeated regular season with a 57-47 victory over Ridgefield High School on Monday.

Quincy McKnight and Tamajh Parker each scored 15 points for the Cadets, who improved to 17-0 and 19-0.

Ridgefield managed to slow down St. Joseph's high-powered offense and kept the game close early. The Tigers led 11-9 after the first quarter and only trailed 24-23 at the intermission.

The Cadets only held a 37-36 lead after three quarters, but pulled away by outscoring Ridgefield 20-11 over the final eight minutes.

Seth Von Kuhn scored 19 points and Kurt Steidl added for the Tigers, who dropped to 14-5 and 12-5.

Ridgefield is battling Trinity Catholic, Westhill and Bassick for the No. 2 seed in the FCIAC playoffs behind top seed St. Joseph.
