The boys basketball team will look to advance to the FCIAC championship game for the first time in school history when the third-seeded Tigers take on No. 2 Trinity Catholic in the semifinals on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Fairfield Warde.
Ridgefield advanced with a 50-46 win over No. 6 seed Stamford while Trinity Catholic got past No. 7 Danbury 62-56 in quarterfinal games on Saturday.

The Crusaders (16-5) handed the Tigers their first loss of the season 48-44 back on Jan. 14 after the Tigers had started 8-0.
In Tuesday's other semifinal at 6 p.m., defending FCIAC champion Bassick takes on No. 8 seed Bridgeport Central, which stunned top seed St. Joseph 62-58 on Saturday. Bassick advanced with a 72-59 victory over Westhill.

The championship game is set for Thursday at Fairfield Warde at 7:30 p.m.

The Ridgefield girls hockey team will host Greenwich in the quarterfinals of the state tournament on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Winter Garden Arena.
It will be the fourth meeting of the season between the FCIAC rivals. Greenwich won two of the previous three contests, including a 4-3 victory in the FCIAC semifinals last week.
The Cardinals advanced Monday with a 6-1 first-round victory over Fairfield.

Ridgefield High School will be the site of a college lacrosse game on March 22 when Merrimack College takes on Rollins College at 7 p.m. at Tiger Hollow Stadium.
Both teams have local ties as former Ridgefield stars Peter Schielke and Jordan Tiger play for Merrimack while Rollins coach R.J. Rossi played at Wilton. Tickets are available at www.tigerhollow.com.
Ridgefield is the defending Class L boys lacrosse state champion after defeating Fairfield Prep 11-10 in the finals last year.
