The boys hockey team will get another crack at Darien when the teams meet in the FCIAC tier one finals on Saturday at the Terry Conners Rink in Stamford.
Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. and follows the tier two final between Trumbull and Westhill, which gets under way at 4 p.m.
Sean Wilkinson and Christopher Morrow each scored two goals as Ridgefield reached the final with a 6-0 victory over St. Joseph on Wednesday while Brendan Hathaway's hat trick led Darien to a 5-2 semifinal win over New Canaan.
The Blue Wave, ranked fifth in the state, comes into Saturday's contest at 16-5 while Ridgefield, ranked third, is 19-2.
After opening the season with a 3-0 loss to top-ranked Fairfield Prep, the Tigers reeled off 14 straight wins before suffering a 4-2 loss to Darien on Feb. 11. Ridgefield will be out to avenge that loss on Saturday.
"They're a good team," Tigers coach Sean Gallagher said. "They're extremely deep, their goaltender (Max Rothson) does a good job in net. It's going to be a different type of game.
"They move the puck into the offensive zone very fast and they do a good job of just keeping it simple, getting it deep and throwing it on the net. We have some work to do in practice over the next two days."
