Ridgefield Teen Charged in Social Media Threat

RHS officials made the Ridgefield police aware of the threat on March 13

RIDGEFIELD, CT —Police charged a local teen last week after the Ridgefield High School student made a threat on social media.

RHS officials made the Ridgefield police aware of the threat on March 13, and identified the person responsible. The police investigated the threat, and apprehended the teen two days later.

Ridgefield police charged the juvenile with second-degree threatening and breach of peace. The teen is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court on March 2

In a release, Ridgefield PD Captain Shawn Platt said that "at no time during this incident were school students and staff in any danger."
