Ridgefield's Andrew Klutey Sets Two Records at FCIAC Swim Meet

Ridgefield senior Andrew Klutey set a pair of meet records at the FCIAC swimming championships at Greenwich High Scool.

Klutey's winning time of 1:41.80 in the 200 freestyle was more than a second better than runner-up Andrew Dillinger of Greenwich. He also set an FCIAC mark in the 500 freestyle (4:38.97).

While Greenwich took the team title with an overall score of 371.5 points, winning the championship for the 40th time in the last 41 years. Ridgefield won five of the nine individual events.

The Tigers finished fifth overall (279) behind New Canaan (350.5), Westhill-Stamford (338.4) and Darien (280.5).

-- Derrian Duryea tied Greenwich's Michael Dustin for co-FCIAC swimmer of the meet.

-- Ridgefield's Rory Walker was named FCIAC Coach of the Year

-- Grayson Smith placed 3rd in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 500 free with a time that almost beat last year's record as well (missed  by four-tenths of a second).

 -- finished sixth in the 200 medley relay, 1:41.32 (Thomas Parks, Duryea, Thomas Szilagyi, Michael Peckham)

--200 individual medley;  first, Brian Bollerman (1:55.45), third, Grayson Smith (1:57.16)

-- 50 freestyle -  first, Duryea (21.44), breaks school record set by Sean Cassells in 1994 (21.82)

-- diving -- ninth, Eric Peterson (280.45)

-- 100 butterfly - 10th, Szilagyi (56.73)

--  500 freestyle - first, Klutey (4:38.37), 12th, Smith (4:59.39)

-- 100 breaststroke -- first, Thomas Parks (58.24), second, Duryea (58.49), 11th, Szilagyi (1:03.51)

--  400 freestyle relay -- fourth, Smith, Szilagyi, Klutey, Bollerman (3:13.36)

-- 200 freestyle relay -- second, Duryea, Smith, Bollerman, Klutey (1:27.37)
