Ridgefield's Galvin Chosen To Play In CHSCA Senior All-Star Festival

The Tigers' floor general is averaging 11 points and eight assists per game

Ridgefield point guard Bryan Galvin has been selected as one of 48 seniors to participate in the Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-Star Festival to be played March 24 at Maloney High School in Meriden.

The Class S vs. Class M game tips off at 6:15 p.m., followed by the Class L vs. Class LL contest at 8 p.m.

Galvin is averaging 11 points and eight assists per game for the Tigers, who completed the best regular season in school history with an 18-2 record.

"Galvin is the field general of this team, without whom we would not have had the success we have had this year,” Tigers coach Carl Charles said. 

"It is a great honor," said Galvin, who will continue his basketball career next year at Division III Wesleyan in Middletown. "Of course, none of this happens without great teammates around me. I am just excited to have a chance to play against the best players in the state."

Ridgefield earned a No. 5 seed in the Class LL state tournament and will host No. 28 Simsbury in the first round on Monday.
