Ridgefield's Tommy Jordan Named To MSG Varsity All-Metro First Team
The offensive lineman is set to enroll at the University of Florida at the beginning of the second semester.

Ridgefield offensive lineman Tommy Jordan has been named to the inaugural MSG Varsity All-Metro first team, which consists of 25 high school football players from the tri-state area.
Jordan, who is set to enroll at the University of Florida at the beginning of the second semester, joined New Canaan wide receiver Kevin Macari as the only players from the FCIAC to earn spots on the first team.
The announcements were made Tuesday on MSG Varsity's A Quick 60 show. Second team and honorable mention picks also were selected and can be viewed on MSGVarsity.com.

Jordan wasn't even aware that he had been named to the team.
"Tommy has been very concerned this week about the situation in Florida and figuring that out," said Ridgefield coach Kevin Callahan, referring to the resignation of Florida's Urban Meyer.

"I was disappointed at first," said Jordan, who thinks Florida made a good choice in hiring Texas defensive coordinator Will Muscamp as Meyer's successor.
Muschamp, 39, is widely considered one of top head-coaching prospects in all of college football. He had been the Longhorns' defensive coordinator for the past three seasons.
Jordan committed to Florida in the summer and is set to graduate from Ridgefield a semester ahead of schedule. Even though he'll be playing for a different coach, his plans haven't changed.
"I am still planning on going to Florida," Jordan said. "The plan is still for me to leave in early January to go down there."
Ridgefield missed the state playoffs, finishing the season 7-3.
Unbeaten Don Bosco Prep of Ramsey, N.J., the No. 1 team for most of the season in MSG Varsity's Tri-State Top 25, led all area teams with five players selected.
