Special Olympics Announces Penguin Plunge Events
First Plunge Will Take Place in Ridgefield, December 19th

Special Olympics Connecticut is pleased to announce dates for its upcoming Penguin Plunge events and invites all to register for a Penguin Plunge, including the new Ridgefield Penguin Plunge, at soct.org. Participants in the Plunge, at all locations, will jump into the chilly waters of a lake or Long Island Sound to support the organization's year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes around the state and help create communities that accept and include people of all abilities. Penguin Plunge season will kick off with a new event - the Ridgefield Penguin Plunge hosted by members of the Ridgefield Police Department. This Plunge will be held at Martin Park Beach, 19 Great Pond Road in Ridgefield, on Sunday, December 19th. Check-in will begin at 11 a.m. and the Plunge will take place at noon. Participants must be at least eight years old and raise a minimum of $25. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and may be done online at https://give.soct.org/event/2021-ridgefield-penguin-plunge/e380130.

Farmington Penguin Plunge at Winding Trails on Sunday, February 13th
Middletown Penguin Plunge at the Polish Falcons Club on Saturday, February 26th
Shoreline Penguin Plunge at Ocean Beach Park in New London on Sunday, March 6th
Fairfield Penguin Plunge at Jennings Beach on Saturday, April 2nd
Plunge at the Park at Wolfe Park in Monroe on Saturday, April 2nd
