Stormy Weather Possible For Ridgefield on Tuesday

There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms later on Tuesday. The rest of the work week forecast looks better.

The weather forecast for Tuesday feels a lot like the one last week where thunderstorms and showers were predicted and it turned out to be mostly sunny for most of the state.

Once again, forecasters caution there is a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms for all of Connecticut, but the odds range from 50-60 percent in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Tolland counties to just 30 percent in Middlesex and New London counties.

WTNH News 8’s Meteorologist Gil Simmons sums it up best when he wrote on Facebook this morning, “Clouds to some midday sunny breaks then a few downpours 2PM-6PM.”

The National Weather Service echoes Simmons and writes that the best chance of showers and thunderstorms will occur after 5 p.m. in Fairfield and New Haven counties, while storms if there are any, could begin anytime after 1 p.m. in Middlesex, 3 p.m. in New London, and 2 p.m. in Hartford counties.
