Strong Second Half Carries Top Seed Staples Past Ridgefield In Girls Lacrosse Quarterfinals
Tigers fall 15-9 after playing the Wreckers even in the first half
After receiving a stern test in the first half, the top-seeded Staples girls lacrosse team pulled away in the second half to defeat Ridgefield 15-9 Friday in the FCIAC quarterfinals in Westport.
The Tigers played the Wreckers to a 7-7 tie in the first half, but Staples started the second half with eight straight goals.
Nikki Seo scored four goals and Adele Mackey, Jesse Ambrose and Maeve Flaherty each added three for the Wreckers (15-1), who face Darien in the semifinals on Monday.
