Trial for Shooting Death of Ridgefield College Student Gets Started
Brian Schiavetti was found shot to death in an apartment building in New Jersey in 2012.
The murder trial of a New Jersey man accused of shooting a Ridgefield college student is set to begin, the Ridgefield Press reports.
Brian Schiavetti, a student at Villanova University who was preparing to enter his senior year in the fall of 2012 was found shot to death in the hallway of a Montclair, New Jersey apartment building in July 2012.
Preliminary investigation indicated that Schiavetti was shot during the course of a robbery.
Schiavetti, an honor roll student who graduated from Ridgefield High School in 2009, was due to graduate from the Villanova School of Business in 2013. He was spending the summer of 2012 working as an intern at Thomson Reuters in Times Square in Manhattan.

Ernest Williams Jr., of Montclair faces murder, robbery and weapons charges in the case. Another Montclair man, James Pitts, who was also a student at Villanova accepted a plea bargain last year and will not be tried.
According to the paper, jury selection was scheduled to begin April 6.
Proceedings will be held in the Hudson County Courthouse at 595 Newark Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
