Police found the drugs when the vehicle was stopped for a registration check.

DANBURY, CT --- Two local men were arrested on Tuesday night for a variety of drug-related offenses after the car they were in was stopped for a registration check, the Danbury Police reported.

When Frederico Mateo-Ogando, 21, of 9 Beaver Brook Road, and Tahjae Roberts, 20, of 15 Grandview Avenue, both in Danbury, were pulled over, Danbury PD Officer Alex Relyea detected the strong odor of marijuana in the parked car. Further examination inside the vehicle revealed an ounce of marijuana, several tablets of the controlled substance Xanax, and $680 which the police believe to be profits from illegal drug sales.

Mateo-Ogando and Roberts were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, among other driving-related offenses.
