Veteran Ridgefield Police Officers Are Promoted
Congratulations to Sgt. Nick Fowler and Officer John Gogola on their promotions to lieutenant and sergeant, respectively.

Two veteran Ridgefield Police officers were promoted on Tuesday — Sgt. Nick Fowler was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and Officer John Gogola was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Fowler began his career in law enforcement in Ridgefield and has been serving the Town of Ridgefield for 10 years. Prior to being promoted to sergeant in 2013, Fowler served in the department’s Detective Division and instructed D.A.R.E. for many years. Fowler is a member of the departments Honor Guard, is a Field Training Officer, and a firearms instructor. During his career, Fowler has received a Unit Citation Award as well as multiple letters of commendation.
Gogola has been in law enforcement for 20 years and has been serving with the Ridgefield Police Department since 2000. Prior to joining the Ridgefield Department, he served with the Connecticut Department of Corrections and the New York City Police Department. Gogola has served in the department’s Patrol Division and Detective Division. He is a Field Training Officer as well as a bike patrol officer. During his career, Gogola has received two Exceptional Service Awards as well as multiple letters of commendation.
