The decisions of the Board of Finance directly influence how we, as a town, plan responsibly for the future, especially when it comes to investing in our public schools. From that vantage point, I’ve seen firsthand how Mike Rettger and Andrew Okrongly have raised the standard for fiscal stewardship in Ridgefield.

Mike and Andrew have modernized the BOF’s approach to financial management, introducing innovative modeling tools that predict budget needs years in advance, setting clear policies for reserve funds that preserve our AAA bond rating, and ensuring taxpayers’ money is used efficiently to sustain the services that make Ridgefield exceptional. They also understand that fiscal responsibility includes making thoughtful, data-driven investments in our community, like their strong support for the recent referendum funding a new facility for our Alternative High School and post-High School Transition Program.

In recent weeks, I’ve heard other candidates describe their approach to the town’s finances in terms better suited to another era, emphasizing nostalgic habits and household-style budgeting as substitutes for professional expertise. Ridgefield deserves more than that. Managing a $175 million town and school budget isn’t like balancing a checkbook at the kitchen table. It requires strategic, experienced, and fiscally skilled leadership.

Mike and Andrew combine decades of professional experience with deep personal commitment to our community. I am confident they will continue to advocate for smart, sustainable investments in our schools and the services that keep Ridgefield strong.

Early voting runs until November 2nd. Whenever you vote, please support Row A for Mike Rettger and Andrew Okrongly, leaders who understand today’s financial realities and are devoted to preparing Ridgefield for tomorrow.
